From the Spring Meeting (2/23/06)
Beginning with the 2006-07 season, the CSCA Cobb Championships will be a "qualifying" meet - in order to swim
in the meet in an individual event, a swimmer must meet a qualifying time (times are listed on the "County Championship" page.
Times will be adjusted every other year, using the average of the 25th-place time from the previous two years county championships
to determine the new qualifying time.
Beginning with the 2006-07 season, in order to be nominated for the CSCA All-County Team, a swimmer must have earned
a state qualifying time in at least one individual event.
The Cobb Swim Coaches Association is currently working on a plan to build a competition aquatic facility. The goal
is to build a state-of-the-art facility that can be used to host all of the current CSCA meets, plus the State Championships.
The facility could also be used for USS meets and the public. Discussions are already underway with the city governments
of Kennesaw and Acworth toward this goal. The CSCA is looking for corporate/private funding to help build
this facility. Anyone who is interested in assisting should contact Dr. Richard Tavernaro at
richard.tavernaro@cobbk12.org
The CSCA is also searching for sponsors for the 2007 CSCA County Championships. Anyone interested can sponsor an
individual event for $100. Event Sponsors will receive recognition in the heat sheets of the meet. Title Sponsors
will be recognized on the Cover of the Heat Sheet, receive a full-page ad in the heat sheet and will be able to place banners
in the aquatic facility during the meet. All sponsors will receive recognition on this website.
